Free
Web
Space
With
any of our dial up or DSL Internet
access plans you get 10 MB of free
web space. Below are
directions for using that space:
Create
your Website
Websites are created using a
computer language called HTML.
HTML is fairly easy to learn.
You can find a great tutorial at http://webmonkey.wired.com/webmonkey/teachingtool/html.html.
If you don't want to take time to
learn HTML, you can use an HTML
editor. For a list of free
HTML editors visit http://www.thefreecountry.com/webmaster/htmleditors.shtml.
You can also use Microsoft Word as a
HTML editor. Just create a
document like normal and when you go
to save it, select "Web
Page" as the file type.
Upload your website
You can upload your website to
our servers using an FTP
program. You can purchase an
FTP program such as FTP commander (http://www.vista.ru/2inter.htm)
or you can use the FTP utility built
into Windows XP and Windows
2000. If you have WinXP or
2000, use Internet explorer to open
the ftp site.
The FTP site you will access will
be:
ftp://boise.quik.com/
Use the following username and
password:
Username: your username for your
primary account, for example
scottgal
Password: the password for your
primary account
Upload your files into the root
directory. This means just put
your files right in the main
folder.
Access your site
